QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE: Vinyl Lullabies
May 12, 2005Launch Radio Networks reports: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE will release a limited-edition, double-disc vinyl version of its latest album, "Lullabies to Paralyze", on June 28, according to a posting at the band's official web site. The set will feature three bonus tracks and will be available in most stores or online at Qotsa.com.
"Lullabies" has sold just over 217,000 copies since its release in March. Although it's the follow-up to the band's 2002 million-selling breakthrough album "Songs For The Deaf", frontman Josh Homme told Launch that "Lullabies" shouldn't be compared to its predecessor. "Every album should be its own work," he said. "People will compare it to 'Songs for the Deaf', but it's not really for that. It's got nothing to do with that. It's not trying to compete with that album. It's not trying to be that album, you know. If you're comparison-shopping the albums, you're not really supposed to, in general. They're their own things, you know."
QUEENS FOR THE STONE AGE will perform this Saturday (May 14) on NBC-TV's "Saturday Night Live".
